Drug & Alcohol Rehab Admissions Process
Recognizing an addiction is more difficult than it seems. Due to the nature of addiction, those suffering may not want to admit to signs of a bigger issue and may find ways to justify or continue drug abuse. Addiction is a chronic disease that affects the brain’s reward, motivation, and memory functions. Many battling with this disease will develop habitual substance use despite harmful consequences.
The first step in any admission process is usually identifying substance abuse signs. Self-evaluation resources may be able to help. AspenRidge offers various assessments, questionnaires, quizzes, and screenings, including:
- Substance Use & Mental Health Assessment
- Am I Becoming an Alcoholic Quiz
- Drug Abuse Screening Test
- Patient Health Questionnaire
Once the issue is acknowledged or recognized, an individual or a family member may decide to seek supportive services and treatment programs. Research is essential to choosing a rehab facility that suits ongoing needs for family members and especially for those embarking on the journey to sobriety.
What should you consider for addiction treatment?
Consider the type of substance you use, the length of use, and the types of therapies and services you need. You should also consider the location of the rehab. If you live in Colorado and have responsibilities you can’t put on hold, staying close to home might be ideal. Fortunately, AspenRidge now offers an online treatment program called AspenRidge REACH. It is designed for adults who have outside obligations or those who may live in isolated areas that hinder their ability to find and receive adequate treatment.
Other factors to consider when choosing a Colorado drug & alcohol treatment center include:
- Success Rate
- Methods of Treatment
- Duration of Treatment
- Accreditation & Licensing
- Relapse Prevention & Ongoing Care
- Family Therapy
AspenRidge is happy to answer any and all questions you may have about our treatment modalities, dual diagnosis approach, licensing and accreditation, and our customized approach that has helped our alumni clients find and maintain their sobriety.
Success Rate: Through AspenRidge Recovery programs, more individuals are able to recover from substance abuse. In fact, 80% of our self-reporting alumni who completed both our In House Transitional Program and Evening Intensive Outpatient Program reported not using or decreased their use 6 months to 2 years after graduation.
A common deterrent of seeking out treatment is the financial cost. Many individuals are nervous about the cost of rehab, which often makes them avoid getting the help they need to recover. Financial rates for drug treatment in Colorado varies between each center. However, there is a center or program for everyone.
Still, financial issues may continue to be a deterrent for individuals seeking help with drugs or alcohol. Potential out-of-pocket costs put a halt to the rehab admissions process for many prospective clients. However, it is possible that your health insurance coverage includes addiction treatment programs and it’s important to find out.
Current legislation regarding healthcare requires providers to issue coverage for at least some of the adduction treatment. At AspenRidge Recovery, we work with several insurance providers on a national level to help our clients receive the coverage they deserve without the unnecessary stress of crippling expenses. During the rehab admissions process, our specialists help walk you through the rehab admission process for verifying your insurance. We’ll work with your insurance provider to minimize costs.
What to Expect After Your Insurance Has Been Verified
During the intake process, our admissions team will ask you a series of questions to get a better understanding of your history with substance use, mental health concerns, and the best approach for favorable treatment outcomes. By asking questions regarding your medical, personal, and family history, we can determine the combination of addiction treatment programs that will suit your needs the best.
Do We Offer Detox?
While we don’t offer a detox facility at our treatment center, we partner with some of the best detox centers in Colorado. Our staff coordinates with these centers directly so that when detox is completed you can transition more seamlessly into our various treatment programs. This initial step allows your body to safely remove substances from your system, allowing you to focus on the rest of your treatment plan without battling withdrawal.
Our Step-Down Programs
In House Transitional Program
Our In House Transitional Program tends to be the first step once the initial admissions process has been completed, or after Detox. In this program, clients are able to participate in a range of addiction therapy. As a 90-day treatment option, it’s one of our most structured programs with clients receiving 30-hours of therapy a week program focused around co-occurring mental health and substance abuse. Clients receive residences in our sober living quarters. Additionally, our staff ensures that residential clients are actively involved in treatment. This includes consistent and engaged attendance at group, individual, and 12-step meetings.
While clients are with us, they have access to mental health services and a variety of holistic treatment options.
Intensive Outpatient Program
AspenRidge’s intensive outpatient treatment program tends to act as a step-down program once an IHTP is complete. However, some clients may begin with this program if our licensed staff has determined that it’s the most fitting for the clients’ needs.
During this step, clients continue to attend therapy sessions, but not as frequently as with IHTP. This allows more freedom to attend work or other responsibilities while still receiving the care they need. Group and individual therapy sessions are still maintained during this program.
An outpatient treatment center in Colorado combines freedom and flexibility with ongoing support. Outpatient programs at AspenRidge Recovery—while less immersion focused—still offer the same evidence-based services. This particular program is designed to help you progress from clinical management of your care to self-directed recovery care and activities. This means building on core strengths and preparing clients for real-world obstacles that may impede progress toward sobriety.
Outpatient programs are typically the last steps to take during recovery. Our clinicians will take the lead in managing your symptoms within the structure and support of our treatment environment until you are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and resources to effectively manage your symptoms on your own. An outpatient treatment program in Colorado is an addiction treatment option where you participate in group therapy 1-2 times a week and individual therapy once a week. However, when you’re not in therapy, you’re free to go home and go to work or school.
Options for Aftercare and Alumni Programs
After treatment, some individuals find the transition back home to be quite daunting. It can be challenging to maintain a schedule or structure immediately after leaving treatment. Through our aftercare program, clients still receive the support and guidance they need as they reintegrate back home.
Our alumni program helps keep clients connected with one another after treatment ends. Maintaining this support system helps prevent relapse and keeps clients on their recovery path.
